Good navrun trip on the Plains today, truck ran well. CB tweak on the modulation seem to have done the trick. Trouble is a tree ate the antenna mount that on the rear of the roof rack so that will need sorting.

Sick to death of people giving me "you are very quite" radio reports with the Cobra uk29 LTD ST even with the dynamic knob on the front panel at max and power microphone on max too !

Opened up the case and found that variable potentiometer labelled VR401 is for adjusting the microphone gain setting. It was almost turned off ! Have increased that to just over the half way position which makes a big difference. The dynamic mic setting (Mic gain) on the front is set to half way point now give decent audio level while remaining within specified deviation.

Will see how we get on now.

I had the same problem on the last rig I bought new from same place. I am wondering if the mofo turns them down so he gets the re-trade for people wanting tweaks.
