Waiting on gasket set(s) and hoses to be delivered hopefully before Saturday.

Bah, I am going to have to renew that brand new oil and filter just incase water got in it...typical.

Am changing the P gasket too. Took that assembly off today to find the P gasket was not leaking - oh well least it should be good for a few miles more with a new one. Also have to do the water pump gasket now its been disturbed.

Changing the top and bottom rad hoses too. New coolant... list and cost goes on. Just hope engine still runs at the end!

300tdi cylinder head is off and away awaiting a verdict to its health.

Read a good tip somewhere at some time and it worked out well in practice.
I placed a bracing pole across from the bulkhead to the front panel and used to a strap to support the manifold/turbo assembly in place without disturbing it. With the manifold studs removed the head just lifts away clear. This method saves the time and effort of not having to remove the front exhaust section, manifold/turbo assembly and the turbo oil plumbing.
