Waterpumps and stuff

Landrover maintenance blog.

Waterpump started leaking from its bumhole.
Fitted a new pump and gasket along with new Top/Bottom radiator and bypass hoses.
New fan belt.

Changed the HT leads over to copper core. Reset the Ignition points gap and checked the spark plug gaps.

Renewed the coolant.

The waterpump was a 9 bolt hole type when I was expecting the military 7 hole type. Possible the engine is not ex-Mil after-all, but need to research that.

New spats fitted

Put on the wheel arch extension. Crafted from formed black plastic guttering half-pipes smile They will do for now! Least the thing is road legal again.

No, it isn't stuck... just got out to take photo because it felt extreme angle when sitting in there.

Bit further down the byway we found a massive 10 foot long recovery sand-track from an army truck. So we dug it out and strapped it to the landie. Will cut it into two and keep in the back...GOOD FIND.

blog issues and updates

Not sure what to do with this blog thing, thinking I am just going to turn it into a online 'maintenance journal' for my vehicles.

Need to add some updated pages to the marlin berlinetta section. Page which i created some time ago just haven't put them online yet.

Need to create a new landrover section.

I sold my 1974 Mini Van Classic for a sum of 50 quid! that's 5 bucks more than I bought it for about 10 years ago.

I beat the RTB's in the race to 100 geocache finds!

New wheels tyres

235/70 colway tyres on white spokes

Mark Sowden from http://www.sowdentyres.co.uk/ came thru with excellent helpful service and supplied me with a set of Colway 235/70 Mud Terrain tyres on 7x16 inch white spoke rims.
The tyres stick out, so in the process of making some wheel arch spats to become road legal again.

Fitted a luxury... an original series 1 'smiths' heater which provides some luke warm air to the cabin.
