Marlin Berlinetta cibie lamps and custom mounting apex

Decided to remove these Cibie Spot lamps and mounting apex pieces from the Marlin Berlinetta. The cibies have started to rust and the base is a difficult area to clean.

The mounting apex peices are not standard on the Marlin Berlinetta build and hardly any other Berlinetta builds have a simular modification. They where originally fabricated by my father not to mount lamps on but to hide these ugly chassis struts.

For now I have cleaned up the struts and applied a coat of paint and waxoil. The front view of the Marlin now looks a lot 'cleaner and leaner', but just like most other builds.

I will likely refab some new apex peices and fit them in the summer months next year. I also want to upgrade the main headlamps as they are pretty old and yellow these days. One day I hope to make fibreglass pods to hold cibie lamps... thus no rust !
